Well, the time has come to cut the cake! I actually have never made a real cake celebration cake before. I've been everyday cakes, but not a icing on the top, two layer cake. So I got a little nervous and it took a long time to put this recipe together, but I think I've figured it out. I actually was so nervous to make this cake that my hands shook the entire time, almost making it impossible for me to even finish it at time. At multiple times, I had to step away and breathe. For some reason, it all just stressed me out. But, we're here with a cake. Not so beautiful, but we have to start from somewhere, right?
Of course, I wanted to incorporate some champagne in my menu somewhere. So I thought, why not here? Unfortunately, the champagne was a bit too dry and lacked flavor, so I used Moscato wine instead. The Moscato made it sweeter and really added a hint of citrus. And what better way than to incorporate berries with some champagne? Since strawberries are in full swing here in Florida, I thought I'd take advantage of all the natural flavors as I could. Finally, designed the cake with our party dessert printouts and a few raspberries and flowers. In the end, it was perfection in every single bite.

It's actually not too difficult of a cake to make, once you pass the nerves. Serve with a glass of champagne because it really brings out the citrus and berry flavors!
I will be announcing the winner of the giveaway tomorrow, so be sure to enter it now!

I think it looks beautiful! I bet it tastes great too. The last time I tried to make a two layer cake I kept shaving bits off to get it leveled and the cake ended up being quite short. :P
