{weekend note}

IMG_1788

So remember the big news I said I would tell you from Tuesday's post? Well, here it is... I'm not moving to London. Nope, it's not a joke. I'm not. Instead I'll be moving to Scotland! This fall I will be joining the ranks of graduate students at the prestigious University of St. Andrews where I will be completing a masters in Middle East and Central Asian Security Studies!

I know we were all excited about London. The city is one thing I will definitely miss, but I've got to be honest with you for a second. For such a long time I have worked so incredibly hard in school and work, and I just thought I deserved to go to an outstanding university for at least my post-grad career. My former university decision, Royal Holloway is a great school, but it really didn't satisfy me. I was accepted Tuesday morning to St. Andrews and I knew I had to take the offer. The school ranked second in postgraduate politics and international relations programs [which actually outranks Oxford]! This was my dream, to attend the school of my dreams and study the field of my dreams and I'm finally doing it.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I just needed to make sure I could get out of my prior commitment to Royal Holloway without any major penalization. Everything was rectified and I guess I'll be moving to St. Andrews, Scotland end of August. The timeframe is a bit different. I will be starting classes in early September [as opposed to end of September] and my studies will last exactly 12 months [instead of 9]. This is one of the more rigorous programs in my field, so I'm going to have to do a lot of blog planning before heading out to Scotland! [Any help would be greatly appreciated.]

I do look forward to one thing.
Maybe I'll end up finding my Prince Charming there too just like Kate found Will?...

A new favorite baking blog.

Completely in love with this look and this shirt dress.

Wonderful summer dessert idea!
