vogue : perfecting the mid-bun with Anjolee

Anjolee was so generous in providing me with an opportunity to use their site and resources to customize my own earrings. I'm a simple girl who loves diamond and pearl studs and I'm sure most of you too. Anjolee provides customers with a number of gemstone, carat and top-quality diamond choices. I prefer to wear diamond jewelry and I am currently coveting their diamond tennis bracelets, which you can click here to check out. You can find all of their products and information at Anjolee.com

In addition to that, I thought it would be appropriate to give you a run down on how I perfect the mid-bun [not to be confused with the top bun] for those of us with shorter length hair. You may not know this about me, but I'm actually a classically trained dancer and mid-buns come with the territory, thus I've had my fair share.
Lets get started...

First, brush your hair thoroughly and tease the top. I prefer a clean bun, but volume at the top.

Second, starting with the top half of your hair, make a half ponytail then proceed to add the bottom half of your hair to the top.

Third, twist the ponytail clockwise [or counter clockwise if you're left handed], while holding down the hair on the top of your head with your other hand to prevent kinks. Twist the ponytail into a circle and wrap a hair tie.

Fourth, if you have layered hair, like me, you will probably have some chunks of hair strands. Take a bobby pin, open it up so it resembles a 'V', wrap the strands in the direction you wrapped your bun, and put the bobby pin into the bun so the pin's tips are secured inside and the rounded edge secures the strands.

  11. Diamonds are a girls best friend! They go with everything. I do really like the amethyst studs though. I'd like to incorporate more gemstones in my collection.

  16. I couldn't agree more. I don't do many gemstones either, so this was a bit out of my element :)
