{weekend note}

♫♪ Les Cité Bleues - Paname Dandies

Well, my visa application has been sent out and I've bought my plane tickets [finally]! I had the most productive week as far as grad school preparations go. The whole process was a bit tedious, but it had to be done. Anyway, I know you're asking, please stop with the banter and tell me when you're leaving. I fly out to London on 4 September where I will be for a few days and then will take a train out to Leuchars [right outside of St. Andrews] on the 7th. I was counting down days, but now I just get really nervous, so I've stopped. Not only do I have a lot of reading and academic prep to do, but there's so much on my plate regarding the blog and a few projects at home. I also made the mistake of fixing a few things around the house when I first came home, and now my mom equates me to Tim the Tool Man-so I have an endless list of little projects to do for my parents around the house [aside from chores]! But, at least I can help, right? ...no.

I've been cooking up a storm. And I'm talking about a level five hurricane storm. It's true that I've been drafting recipes for the blog, and usually whenever I cook anything it's primarily to share with all of you, but things have changed. I've been making meals quite... recreationally! I found it to be a good escape from all the required summer reading I have to do.

And in total contrast of what I shared above. The family doctor came to visit on Thursday since I had a significant load of medical paperwork that needed to be done as well as needed a general check up. I'm healthy, but supposedly need to lose fifteen pounds to not be overweight. We're joking, right? Nope. I'm probably annoyed about this primarily because I actually have been in pursuit of losing weight and have lost some only because I've gained literally a quarter of my original weight from all the food my mom makes me eat. So an extra twenty minutes of pilates and little faster on the elliptical it is.

I've got a tip for all your Twitter-ites too. Lay off the Twitter right before going to bed. I've had the strangest collection of dreams this past week. I used to read my political blogs before bed, but an appearance by Newt in my dreams stirred me away. Then started going through Twitter before bed and it's been worse. I've had blogger's babies show up in my dreams along with random #hashtags.

On a final note, I'm going to lay off the New York Times links. I know, short lived and a I think a lot of you enjoyed them too. I'll add something if I do find anything over-the-top entertaining though. It's just that since NYT has a limit of ten views a month for non-members, many of you have emailed or commented saying you are not able to see the articles I post. I'm sorry, friends. You should, however, become members! This is not a sponsored post. And with that note, I leave you with these links.

    So excited that you are getting everything in order for grad school! Will definitely miss having a blogger friend in town but so excited for you! Instead of Twitter I answer emails while laying down ready to sleep. I now dream about inboxes, WordPress, and CSS. Haha!
