♫♪ Walk Away - Aaron Michael Cox
It's a little startling to think about how delicate life is. A fall can scrape our knees, a hit on the head can effect our memory, but we never think about the gentleness that is our life. Last week one of my close friends, David [who you know from here] lost his older brother to a short, but overwhelming battle to cancer. Rogue viruses enter our bodies and distorts our health in ways unimaginable, but we can only do one thing to prevent from all this affecting us and that is enjoy each day and every moment. I fondly remember sitting in Dave's music nook and in between the songs he played on the piano and sang to me, he shared all the wonderfulness his brother was doing in the music industry. Aaron was incredible from all that I know about him, his talent had taken him so far and he had so much love for the music discipline that he enjoyed to share with the world. That, my friends, is a true gift. As much as it is heartbreaking to hear of Aaron's passing, it also brings the community together to celebrate not only his life, but his music and talent. Most importantly, it's time to share his achievements. I would recommend you watch this video, even if you don't know him, you will truly be inspired to live the life he did and that is to strive for the best unselfishly. And yes, the song of the week is by Aaron himself.
Onto this weekend, I am headed to Key West tomorrow with my family to meet up with some of our closest family friends and enjoy a few days in paradise. I know I deserve this time off considering my life has been go-go-go for the past few months. For some reason, however, I'm not all that excited. Probably because I see a list building up all over again of things to do before moving in like 40-ish days. I'm getting nervous, not for school, but if I'm going to get everything done on time or not. It seems like projects are far from finished, but this vacation will just be the thing I need to get re-motivated. Blogging will remain the same, I've drafted posts that are ready for you to go including Art to Inspiration, so I won't be MIA. I will be sharing my trip though instagram and fully later on the blog.
Finally, I got my student visa for the UK! This marks the greatest moment ever : completing my grad school paperwork list. This was such a relief and I was glad everything is set for me to go, if I'm ready or not. I just really hope I have some incredible motivation once I get back. I usually write a list of all that I have to get done on a particular day and go through the list as fast and efficiently as I can to keep myself motivated [along with some good music]. With that said, how do you get/stay motivated? Do you have an tactics?
And with all that, I give you the weekend links and I will see you all Monday with a post on French inspired interior and a fashion post later in the week. Hope you have a sun-filled, lovely weekend!
