24 day! 24 days, my friends, until I'm headed to Europe for graduate school. Who knew time could fly by this fast? I feel like yesterday I was talking about how I have only 5 months before starting classes at St. Andrews. It's been such a fast 3 weeks with shopping for school, relatives visiting, and going to Key West. I've been drafting a bucket list [which I will share with you] for while I am at St. Andrews. Of course, this means I've been looking up facts about the campus and its traditions and I'm so excited to be going to a university with pride, prestige and so much history.

This last week has been major catchup mode since I was on vacation the week before. I have started receiving phone calls, texts, tweets and emails from friends and family as the final days approach.  One email from a dear friend from high school, SB, sent one of the sweetest emails that brought me to tears. She told me that through the hardships that is academics of grad school, you must take time for yourself and live life the fullest every single day. This time is mine and no matter what happens, your friends and family at home will always be here for you and will love you regardless. There is so much racing through my head about being able to stay in contact with all my friends in the States, and though I will keep in touch, I need to take advantage of the time I have there because twelve months is just not enough. SB's words will stay true to me. [And I've been a bad friend and haven't emailed back, but thank you SB.]

Yesterday evening I had one of the most wonderful dinners ever. My father and I went on a little date. I don't think I even remember the last time we did that? I think in elementary school, to be honest. Just the two of us. He and I have very similar palates [now you know where I get it from]. We headed to a sweet, little local joint for happy hour and to watch the finals of a few Olympic events and of course spend some quality time together before I leave. It was such a grand time and I couldn't stop laughing majority of the time. I can't even tell you how much I'll remember and cherish this dinner. The simple joys in life, right?

Onto this weekend. I'm not doing much except for calling friends. I had been ignoring so many phone calls this past week, and finally I'm just going to sit on the phone, paint my nails and chat with some of my closest and dearest friends. Anything exciting on your end? Please share!
