vogue : from day to night

Usually by Friday I'm itching to get out of class and get the weekend started. And by weekend started, I mean I just want to leave class, have a beer with some friends, head back to the dorm to relax and do my nails while watching old episodes of Gossip Girl before dozing off to bed. I'm lame, but sometimes I do like to have a night out. A reason to get out of the classroom uniform, unfortunately sometimes I don't have time to completely change or am a bit rushed. So here are a few tips I like to keep on hand when I'm aware I will have to pull off the day-to-night look!

{jewelry}
If I only have minutes to drop off my school bag and pick up a purse, sometimes a little jewelry change is the perfect amount of time to go from day to night. During the day I may go for simple studs and an arm party, but for the evening you can switch out the jewels and go for a statement necklace. This way you won't have to worry about having to match your jewels.

{make-up}
This is the key ingredient to a day-to-night look. During the day I like to go for a more simpler look: some mascara to open up my eyes, a thin layer of eyeliner for added freshness, and a brush of bronzer to bring structure and natural light to my skin. For night, all you've got to do then is add a little pink blush to the apples of your cheeks, add wing tips to your eyeliner for something fierce, and speaking of fierce throw on some red lipstick!

{clothes}
This is the easiest of all rules. For the day I go for something more structured like a blazer over a flowy dress. For evening, switch out the blazer for some scandalous heels! You can read more about day-to-night clothing tips over here!

{purse}
This is pretty self explanatory. During the day, I like to carry my entire like with me. My entire life. For some reason, in the evenings, I find it completely okay to not have my life accompany me. Strange, right? During the day I go for a tote bag or a boho. In the evenings, I go for my favorite black sequin clutch or something small yet shiny! And I highly recommend these five essentials to include in your clutch on a night out!
