Wow, it's the last weekend with my family! I'm not exclaiming because I'm excited about that, but I'm just in shock how fast time has gone. Many of you have sent the sweetest, letters and emails. I can't believe I've not met 99.9% of you and still you've done selfless deeds to support me during my transition. So again, like I always do, thank you.
It's been a bit of an exhausting week to say the least. First, I've had online matriculation for St. Andrews, which is a pre-orientation where you fill out all the necessary paperwork. Because of that, I have been waking up fairly early and trying to get all my finances and the such sorted out. This is also where I have to set up advising and scheduling appointments, meetings with the entire international relations department, and any and all other meetings. But what's most exciting is that orientation week ends with an opening ceremony, which makes me believe this is going to be a lot like Hogwarts. I'm living the dream, folks.
On top of that, I have been setting up for my dad's birthday party [which is today!] and it has been a bit over-the-top. I've been spending hours and hours in the kitchen each day this week, which has made me feel like a true culinary Herculean. I've been staying up late talking to and meeting up with friends to say my goodbyes and organizing the decorations. So you could say it's been a long week and I'm hoping for a good nine-hour nap on the flight to London.
This weekend is the party. I've been up since 5:30am working on the last few dishes I need to do and people should be arriving at 7pm. So I've got some time, some. I'm sorry my weekend notes have been the same for the last several weeks, but I'm sure they will get more exciting once I'm situated at St. Andrews! Any plans for you this weekend? I hope they're exciting ones!
