live to create : two jewelry solutions

I'm surprised I didn't share my jewelry organization earlier on the blog. I'm quite anal about my jewelry being in pristine shape, but who isn't right? I have come up with two different methods. That I thought I would share with you. It's decorative and effective, just the way I like things. Though these are not my photos, I do practice both of these methods at home. While in Scotland, however, I have been using only one method.

{method one}
If you visit your local craft store like JoAnn Fabrics or Michael's, just head on over to the faux flower section. All you need are the following

a faux branch, or two
glass vase that fits the branch[es]
rocks or marbles, to hold the branches in place

This will hold all your small, intimate jewelry like simple chains with pendants and prevent them from being tangled.

{method two}
Though mine are not as stunning as these, I do find cases to be particularly helpful to hold sets and earrings. You can find this particular box at Zara Home [only available to select countries]. I have plastic containers that I found at my local hardware store. It is actually used for holding nuts and bolts and the like.

  1. I love the branch idea! I'm constantly getting my necklaces tangled, so this is a good, easy solution to that problem. My jewelry thanks you!

    What great ideas! I was going through my jewelry box this weekend and my necklaces were a big jumbled mess. I'd love to do the tree idea but I don't trust my wild child 18-month old enough. I'm definitely looking into compartments though!

  4. I have so much jewellery (obviously!) and I always found it very difficult to keep it neat, and most importantly, to see everything you own at a glance. I found out about the Stackers boxes (available at John Lewis or Amazon): you buy the initial box with a lid and then you can add as many layers as you need with different sized compartments to suit. I think it's the brilliant idea, and I think I have 5 or 6 layers. It don't look as pretty as your wooden box here but the practicality trumps the prettiness! Hope this can help! Marie

  5. so, I super love both of these. I'm really diggin that box though! Zara Home won't be ready for the US until another few weeks, but I will be keeping my eye out for that box for sure!
