vogue : the kate middleton wardrobe

So, not to brag or anything, but I do attend a royal graduate school. Since I've been at St. Andrews I've been anticipating a royal visit! I hear they come often, but haven't spotted them... just yet. Ironically, I think I'm more interested in what she's wearing. I mean she's the style icon of our day, right? Red carpet gowns, jacket silhouettes, petite hats, day dresses, she even pulls off the suits so well. I'll cover some of the quintessential Kate pieces that will help shape your closet into our day's style icon.

{tailored dresses}

This is an obvious. You don't see the duchess in many two or three piece sets rather knee-length tailored dresses of all different colors and styles. Stick to something right above the knee, with simple beading or a solid color. Stay away from patterns.

{neutral heels}

These little beauties go with everything! One personal tip is, invest in a good pair of nude heels, and take them on all your trips as your only pair or one of few pairs of shoes. It's a great way of packing light, and when in doubt, you can pull off the nude heels with just about anything. I'm pretty sure that's what Kate's doing.

{simple make-up}

No wing tips, no red lips, nothing exaggerated. She goes for a simple look accentuating her stunning eyes! Go for a neutral eye shadow just a tad darker than your natural skin tone. Go for a thin swipe of liner and a volumnizing mascara.

 {tailored blazer}

{long locks & waves}

Don't you love the bounce and elegance in her hair? Big, loose curls at end of your tresses are such a beautiful silhouette. You can use a one and half inch barrel curling iron. Use bobbies to style your hair in different ways!
