Every year I like to celebrate my birthday for… an entire month. I love entertaining and a good party and like last year, I’m going to be designing an entire party from start to finish. Last year, I let all of you choose, but this year, since I have limited access to resources I’m going to pick the theme. Next year, friends, I’ll let you choose again. So, this year’s theme for the birthday countdown series of 2013 is A Night in Madrid! I’ve backpacked through Spain and I hope to bring nothing but the best and most authentic as I have taken a few cooking classes out there. Get ready for saffron and paprika infused food, fruity drinks, lots of wine and galore.
This Spanish themed wedding has truly been inspirational in putting this year’s A Night in Madrid birthday countdown series together. I was looking for a unique and inviting color palette that is both festive and casual. I see the Spanish culture as warm and inclusive. Tapas are small plates that you share among close friends and family, you share a bottle of wine and pitcher of sangria. It’s a cuisine of sharing. Sharing with close friends and family. From my research, I’ve come up with a ton of great ideas that I hope you enjoy. Most of the colors, food and mood of the party will be inspired by the above wedding and the color inspiration below.
As we’ve shared today’s inspiration we will also have a Spanish themed outfit, party favor, free printouts, bouquets, drinks and more! Can’t wait to share everything with all of you.
