vogue : draped in noir

Since seeing Debra’s post a while back on all-black fashion inspiration, it got me thinking about my {mild} aversion to color. Though you will see me frolicking along in bold green and coral dress, I do find most of my daily staples being a shade of black or a deep charcoal grey. We’re always told that black makes you slimmer, but I think black makes you look romantic. The bold color brings out the deep hues of your hair and eyes that is quite enchanting. And as you probably know, It’s seldom I am seen without red nails or lips, which coincidently creates an exotic and coveted color palette.
Most of my closet consists of deep purple hues, some late summer whites and sometimes with a slight shimmer, but much of it is a collection of black staples like maxi dresses and midi skirts and little black dresses
  • I am happy in black! Some people find that hard to believe but black is just so…perfect? It’s so easy to go from a romantic, elegant vibe to a harder goth edge in black, and I love that! I think I have an aversion to colour, though, so much so that summer clothing sometimes irritates me!

    • It really is a diverse color style. And I’m the same. Pastels don’t look too great on my skin and so summers become rather difficult to dress for… but this just gave me another post idea! Thanks Sabbie xx

Thank you for the link-love 😉 xxx

  • Beautiful! I love the shoes in the first pic specifically. I purchased a similar pair , but with a a thick heel for about $12 at Plato’s Closet. Its so easy to recreate these looks, if you have the patience. Love the links!

  • I do love bold and bright colors – but all my favorites pieces are black or other dark hues. Something about it just feels timeless.

  • I almost get too intimidated by bold, bright colors which is why I love black! x
