vogue : the classic white button down

As you probably knew from conversations, I am in the process of minimising my possessions. Over the years with four moves from one city to the next I seemed to acquire an abundance of almost non-necessary things. Though it’s the little details, like moments, behind the trinkets or dresses or folders that appeal to me and make it so hard to let go. I’m sure you can relate. With a move that marks the beginning of a chapter, I felt slightly obligated to start new and focus on things that really matter. And one of those things is acquiring quality closet staples like the classic white button down. Here, a little inspiration of the classic white crisp lines that intermingles masculinity and femininity… and of course I couldn’t help but share a few of my own outfits from the closet.

The white blouse can be light and floating, impeccable and austere, sumptuous and all-enveloping, tight and close-fitting. It rises up to frame the face. There is nothing more beautiful than English tiled lace that enchants you into an afternoon of tea and sweets and petite sandwiches. Paired of course with Estée Lauder’s floral infused Modern Muse.

But no fashion inspiration is complete without Olivia Palermo’s street look as she adds another dimension to a feminine, floral dress.

  • I don't usually go rouge but love a subtle lace bralette. xx

I must really agree! I don't think there is anything more classic and timeless than a nice white button down. It's one of the things I think are really worth investing in! It'll never go out of style, especially if it's a classic cut and a nice shape 🙂

  • I used to have an aversion to traditional styles, but it just makes sense. And I've been slightly obsessed with the idea of a button down after graduation.

  • Why is it so hard to find THE perfect white shirt? I'm still on a hunt to find The One as I love how smart and well put-together it looks (even with jeans). And Olivia P takes it to another level with her interpretation of the classic white button down, doesn't she? Swoon.

  • you've got me beat! I get really nervous in white in general, but I'm loving some of the looks people have pulled off recently! x
