“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a
young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life,
it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”

♫♪ Bill Withers – Ain’t No Sunshine

Time has gone by so fast. So incredibly fast. As we passed the summer solstice, I was looking back at photos from St. Andrews and I was blown away by the fact that it was just a year ago. A year ago since I was frolicking among the shores of Castle Sands in St. Andrews taking outfit photos as a bonfire. Time has flown by. Though days are long, weeks are actually at a rapid pace, and then the weekend is upon us and we realize we were just in a whirlwind.

After that reflection, I took a second to pause and noticed we’re always zooming through the week anticipating the weekend and once the weekend is here, we’re always readying ourselves for the week. Though, I may be just talking about myself. I guess it’s the moment when you actually stop. I mean, really stop to think, is when you notice the importance of time. 10 seconds. 30 seconds. 5 minutes. 1 hour. 3 weeks. 2 years.

It’s always the little things that I remember, when I subconsciously turn off that “zoom mode”. I remember that exchange of smiles with an elderly woman in the subway, or the beautiful sunset caught between two buildings in London’s financial district, or that moment I laughed with my mother trying to properly align and button up a blouse in the dressing rooms at a boutique. The moments where you stop are always the one that you remember the most, so take advantage of releasing yourself from the go-go-go.

With that said, the weekend is upon us and I have a few things to catch up on. Once the to do list is complete, I plan on watching a bit of soccer, playing around with some new ingredients in the kitchen, and having some casual drinks with good company. I hope you have the most beautiful {4th of July} weekend wherever you are. From me to you, xo S.
