Now with the summer season come close to an end, though I promise you I’m holding onto you as tight as possible, the new season of autumn will be upon us soon enough. What used to be pitchers of sangria and margaritas will soon be replaced by denser cocktails and indoor entertaining. Usually my cocktails for the summer can be mixed in one pitcher to serve, like my cava sangria or spiced-red wine sangria, but now I will need to dust off the bar tools and get ready for some fun cocktails!

Is it Friday yet?!

The cocktail shaker can be used for mixing or shaking, the classic French style includes a metal bottom and a metal cap, in which the cap can also be doubled as a shot measuring cup.

The utensils you want are the cocktail spoon that can be doubled as a muddler, including a pair of ice tongs, a bottle opener, strainer to separate ice and drink, and a jigger that allows you to measure you alcohol.

I like to have a small pitcher or tumbler on the side as the “flavor” tumbler to include simple syrups or brine for dirty martinis.

The corkscrew is used to open wine, is that really too hard to believe?
