where humanity meets raw earth
After spending so many months in the concrete jungle of London, and city hopping from one to another,
I almost forgot how it felt to be emancipated from the everyday. The everyday sounds of busyness,
smell of exhaust from public transport, the feeling of being trapped in the hustle.
We drove up to the game reserve one early morning after breakfast overlooking the Indian ocean.
As we got closer and closer to Bonamanzi, the streets became more and more dense. And as we
arrived, the sweet hello’s and exchange of smiles and smirks commenced…
And at that moment, I stopped in my very tracks. Looked out into the abyss of raw earth.
Forced myself to stop thinking. Stop. Inhale. Exhale. And it felt as if I was finally parallel
to the world. To think that just on the other side of the world there was a place that I
came from where everything felt like pure mayhem.
And though I can’t properly depict the serenity that Bonamanzi exudes,
this is my best effort of the absolute tranquility experienced.
