relaxing weekend away

in need of an escape

We are knee deep into fashion month, and though the fun has just started, I’m already
thinking of another holiday. Not the typical holiday, where it’s packed with long
walks and sightseeing, but one that involves tremendous relaxation. This post started
off as a travel holiday post, but when the idea of a staycation or a holiday in
a city I’ve already explored came to mind… it seemed more like what I was looking for.

So a guide on enjoying a relaxing weekend away… from your busy schedule, the deadlines,
the appointments and meetings, the ongoing to-do list.

cozy clothes

I avoid the body-con dresses and high heels. Going out on the town is replaced
with bubble baths, a glass of wine and a beautifully scented candles. So soft knits,
a wooly scarf, soft trousers, an empire waist dress and flats are what my suitcase is
filled with. Especially when you’re visiting during the autumn months.

beauty & jewelry

I like to keep my beauty routine simple for obvious reasons. But when preparing
for a weekend getaway that is both indulgent and relaxing, there’s no preparation
involved. I prefer to take my bath salts, exfoliators and nail lacquers with me because
that’s what the holiday is for, right? And the jewelry? delicate, gentle and throw in
a pretty pair of earrings just in case you plan a special dinner out.

tech help

And there is nothing like a holiday with a little fun. I usually try to find the best
restaurant in town or search for an ice cream around the corner. One of my favorite mobile
apps to use in London and Paris {if that’s where you will be escaping to…} is Dojo app.
With so many categories, easy interface and lots of unique options for pop-ups and
great eats and outdoor venues.

added advice

If you’re one who frequents to a particular country {for me being the EU and India} then
have some currency on hand so you don’t have to visit the bank and/or get the airport
earlier to exchange.
