toning face mask

indulging your skin

And now with summer trailing behind us it almost seems as if I’m in a perpetual
state of a “hangover”. Not in the sense that I’ve been drinking all day and all
night and ever weekend. I’m just a bit exhausted. I maximized my time outdoors
through walks, rooftop drinks, outdoor cafes and lots of activities under the sun.
A bit exhausting, but I don’t regret a single bit of it.

Lately my skin has needed a little TLC. Over the last several months, I’ve slathered
on some SPF, but I honestly didn’t do much else. And after spending day in and day out
in the sun, it seems like my face needs to bit of attention as uneven skin tone has taken reign.

prep the citrus powder

Dry a bunch of clementine peels in sunlight for a few days, about 2 cups worth of peels.
Blend into a powder. This should last you about 10 face-masks. It doesn’t have to be a
perfectly soft powder, a little coarse will make it a natural exfoliator.

prep & apply the mask

Combine 1 tablespoon chickpea flour, 1 tablespoon citrus powder, 1 tsp turmeric,
3 to 4 tablespoons of milk. It should be a little runnier version of a mask. Place
on face and neck and let it set for about 15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water
and apply your favorite face oil.
