it’s that time of the year

Currently, I’m sitting in my bed facing one suitcase with it’s zipper undone, the suitcase hungry enough
for one more bite of possessions. I see a carry-on too, which includes a journal, a magazine, a book,
my laptop and camera. I’m going on a holiday tomorrow and I’m seeing my family after a year. A year
of being abroad. A year of adventure. A year without them though… And so this time of the year when I feel
a bit of nostalgia, I can’t help but get giddy about the fact that I will actually be with them on
(American) Thanksgiving. A holiday where food brings people together and sets memories for the future to remember

It just hit me that tomorrow my passport will be stamped with a familiar ink and soon in the arms of the
ones who don’t even need a definition of unconditional love. An absolute beautiful moment to think that,
I tell you.Actually, when you read this and when this is posted, I’ve been reunited with my family already!

the Supper Club with Smoke & Salt

Just this Wednesday the 11th, Soho House invited me out for a dinner at Barber and Parlour where they
hosted the two exceptional chefs behind Smoke and Salt. It was a chilly day, and naturally dark with specks
of rain that glistened my skin and the tops of my hair ever so slightly. I walked in and was greeted
with warmth (quite literally) and was ushered to the left of the restaurant that housed tables and chairs
of all shapes and sizes. On each was a menu and a greeting from Smoke and Salt with an outline of
the night’s culinary adventure. From there, I looked up and the tables glistened as the candles flickered
and the twinkles captured in between the green water bottles.

{the Supper Club defined} One by one each course came and in between the dishes fun of flavor, color
and absolute delight was the clinking of glasses and laughter among new friends.
