My parents and I always joke around that we never make the same dish more than once. My family is pretty adventurous when it comes to food and cuisines. Most Indian families will stick to a certain cuisine [like Mexican], resort to something common, or will only truly enjoy a dish if it is spicy. We're quite the contrary. Once, right before I moved to DC, I asked my mom if I could cook dinner but didn't really know what to cook. We sat online, looked through magazines, watched some of our favorite cooking channels. In the end we decided it would be best to close our eyes, spin the globe and point.

This is how we find a solution to a kitchen problem. Eyes, spin, point.

...It ended up spinning onto Iceland.
