transitioned and settled
The moment I got to California back in November and was reunited with my family, it was a euphoric moment. A feeling of comfort and calm. Each day felt shorter than the last when you spend it with people you just don’t get to see that often. It wasn’t until waking up at 4:30 in the morning to get ready and catch my flight back to London did I feel that bit of anxiety. I thought it was merely because I was going to miss my parents and little brother. And though that was a bit of the reason why I felt a bit on edge, it was that feeling of itching to get back to my life in London. That need to get back home. I talk a lot about the transition from America to London, but now that I’ve settled well into my everyday routine I feel as if I have just about everything here. Silly enough, a lot of my style has changed. We went from the everyday, simple fit-and-flares to more daring numbers. And to bring it all back to that moment of feeling at home with London, I feel a lot more in my skin today than I did when I first arrived.
Fairfax & Favor caught my eye as the brand reminded me much of my days at St. Andrews. The countryside, though not too serious. Smart casual done right. I was looking for something that brought the casual from a chelsea boot and the flair that is acceptable for a champagne brunch. The Athena boots were the perfect pair for that all-American girl to transition into something classic, contemporary and British. Further, When I first introduced Alina to South West Ten, she looked at me with curiosity and eager to know where my taste for chic European-flair stemmed from. It was that mix of sexy, luxe and chic that I wanted to go for. The wraps in their gorgeous hues are just a touch of luxury for any simple look. But my next covet piece is their parka as t’s quite the stunner in the red-hue hood.
